7 MBA in Malaysia with Scholarship for 2026 Intake

Studying for an MBA in Malaysia is one of the most affordable options in Asia, with tuition ranging from USD 7,000 to 37,000 for the full program. Many business schools in Malaysia offer scholarships on top of this, from automatic 20% tuition reductions to full tuition awards, making it an attractive destination for international MBA students.

Here is the list of MBA programs in Malaysia with scholarship opportunities for the 2026 intake!

How to increase your chances for a scholarship

Based on the scholarship criteria published by the schools, here are the top tips to increase your chances for an MBA in Malaysia with scholarship:

  • Take the GMAT or GRE and aim for a competitive score
  • Apply in the early rounds
  • Keep your grades up
  • Build a CV with clear leadership impact and career progression
  • Prepare well for the admissions interview, because most awards are decided together with your admission

MBA at Asia School of Business in collaboration with MIT Sloan

  • Tuition: RM150,000 (about USD 37,000) for the full program
  • Deadline: June 30, 2026 (Round 5, final round for the August 2026 intake)
  • Location: Kuala Lumpur
  • Duration: 12 months, full-time
  • Degree level: Master's

Scholarship information: Asia School of Business was established in collaboration with MIT Sloan School of Management, and it runs one of the widest scholarship programs of any business school in Malaysia. The admissions committee evaluates your application and your award at the same time, so there is no separate scholarship application for the fellowships.

  • ASB Fellowships are merit-based awards for applicants with strong academics, work experience, leadership impact, or professional and global diversity. The fellowship amount is decided together with your admission, and applicants in Round 1 or Round 2 get priority consideration, so for the next intake plan to apply early.
  • ASB-GMAT and ASB-GRE Merit Scholarships reward competitive test scores. Both are open to all nationalities with at least two years of post-degree work experience. The deadline for the August 2026 intake was May 31, 2026, so if you are applying in Round 5, your test score will still support your admission and general scholarship decisions, and you can target this award for the next intake.
  • The Bangkok Bank MBA Scholarship is the biggest single award, covering full tuition plus coaching and career development support. Its deadline for this intake was Round 4 on May 28, 2026.
  • Corporate Sponsorships are available if you work for an ASB partner organisation, which includes AirAsia Group, PETRONAS, MARA, Bank Negara Malaysia, the Malaysian public service (JPA), and the Usaha Tegas Group.

Government-funded Malaysia scholarships for MBA

The Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) pays full tuition directly to the university plus RM1,500 per month (about USD 370) for living costs. It covers full-time master's and PhD study at 20 public universities and four private institutions, and Business, Administration and Law is one of its stated priority areas. You need a CGPA of 3.00, IELTS 6.0 or equivalent, and you must be 40 or younger for a master's.

The MTCP Scholarship, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for students from developing countries, covers tuition plus allowances worth RM3,500 per month (about USD 860) and a return flight for a master's at a Malaysian public university. You need a valid full offer letter before you apply, since conditional offers are not accepted.

One thing to check before counting on this route: confirm with the university that your specific MBA or business master's program is supported under the scholarship, since coverage depends on the program being accredited and offered at a supported institution. For the full breakdown of both scholarships, read our scholarships in Malaysia guide.
