Accessing Your Community

The ALFIE program at Berkshire College of Agriculture is a non-degree course that helps students access their community and develop new skills. It's ideal for international students who want to learn about British culture and way of life. The program is taught in English and lasts for a year, giving students plenty of time to settle in and make the most of their experience.

This program covers topics like independent living, health and wellbeing, and community participation. Students will learn how to navigate everyday situations, build relationships, and stay safe. They'll also take part in group activities and outings that help them get to know their local community.

After completing the ALFIE program, students can pursue careers like Community Outreach Worker, Support Worker, or Activity Coordinator. They may find job opportunities in organizations that support people with disabilities, older adults, or vulnerable groups. Some students may also choose to work as a Mentor or a Befriender, helping others to achieve their goals and live fulfilling lives.
