About the Program

ALIGN4energy is a four-year research and development project aimed at supporting citizens, policymakers, and energy system developers in making informed decisions about sustainable heating systems. Launched on November 1, 2022, this initiative addresses the slow transition from fossil-fueled heating systems by synchronizing investment timelines and preferences. It is ideal for students interested in urban energy solutions and sustainability.

The project combines insights from various disciplines, including social sciences, technical energy systems, and artificial intelligence. Participants will engage in developing state-of-the-art tools and methodologies that facilitate decision-making for heating systems at individual and collective levels. This hands-on experience prepares students to tackle real-world challenges in energy efficiency and sustainability.

Graduates of this project can pursue roles such as energy policy analyst, sustainability consultant, project manager in renewable energy, or research associate in urban energy systems. They will find opportunities in municipalities, energy companies, and research institutions. The skills gained are transferable across various sectors focused on sustainable development and energy transition.
