📚 About the Program

The Degree Program in Applied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence trains computer science professionals with specific skills in artificial intelligence and the main areas of applied computer science. Graduates in Applied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence will acquire a solid foundation of knowledge, enabling them to keep abreast of technological developments, and in-depth technical training, facilitating rapid professional entry into the information and communication technology sector.
Graduates in Computer Science will also possess the necessary qualifications for admission to higher education levels, both in computer science and other scientific fields.

The basic cultural preparation will enable graduates in Applied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence to acquire:
- familiarity with the scientific method of inquiry;
- the ability to understand and use supporting mathematical tools;
- methodological knowledge and basic skills in a broad range of fields in information and communication science and technology, including the most advanced artificial intelligence techniques;
- knowledge of the discipline directly in English, useful for entering the international workforce.

To ensure the above preparation, the first two years of the program, common to all students, include core courses considered essential for cultural and technical development in this field. These include courses in mathematics, physics, and statistics, along with fundamental courses in computer science and artificial intelligence.
During the third year, in addition to completing the core training, students will be able to choose courses that will help define their professional profile in the main areas of applied computer science, complementing their curriculum with courses in economics and/or law.
The program concludes with an internship, which can be completed internally, exploring advanced topics under the supervision of a faculty member, or externally, at companies in the sector, participating in activities such as analysis, software design and development, data analysis, artificial intelligence, systems, and networks.

The Degree Program in Applied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence has activated several Erasmus agreements, offering students the opportunity to undertake training experiences abroad.

The Degree Course in Applied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence has limited enrollment, and enrollment is subject to passing an admission test.

Sapienza University of Rome was founded in 1303, located outside the Vatican walls. Despite some initial issues with the clergy, the university fostered a new relationship between the city of Rome and scholars from all over the world.
