The post-master's certificate in adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner program prepares applicants with a previous master’s degree in nursing to be advanced practice leaders and interprofessional team members to provide care for acute and critically ill patients and their families in settings such as urgent care centers, critical care units, and inpatient medical-surgical or specialty units. Offered on a part-time basis, the certificate can be completed in three semesters by applicants with previous advanced practice nursing certification (FNP or AG-Primary Care). Students are prepared to be eligible to sit for both of the nationally recognized certification examinations for adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner from American Nurses Credentialing Center and from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.
