College and Career Readiness Certificate

The College and Career Readiness Certificate at Western Kentucky University is a non-degree program for graduate students who want to support the college and career readiness of P-12 students. It takes one year to complete and focuses on interacting with students and developing professional relationships with school stakeholders.

The curriculum includes courses taught by faculty and experts from local businesses and schools, as well as action research and service learning consultation activities. Students will learn skills such as developing college and career readiness programs and working with school personnel.

Graduates of this program can pursue careers as School Counselors, Career Development Specialists, Education Consultants, or Student Success Coordinators. They can work in schools, universities, or private companies, and can be employed by educational institutions or organizations that support student development.
