Bachelor in Interior Architecture and Environmental Design

Interior Architecture and Environmental Design trains students to plan and shape indoor spaces and their immediate surroundings, addressing how layout, materials, and light affect the way people experience a building. The field draws together design theory, technical construction knowledge, and an understanding of how architecture and interior spaces interact, with coursework spanning design studio, drafting and computer-aided design, furniture and lighting design, and building materials and systems. Students learn to move from initial concept sketches through to detailed technical drawings, developing the practical skills needed to see a design project through to completion. Offered as a 4-year bachelor program taught in English at Ankara Bilim University in Ankara, Turkey, the course gives students a chance to build an international design vocabulary while studying in a city with a mix of historic and contemporary architecture. Studio critique sessions form a regular part of the learning process, where students present their design work and receive feedback on both concept and technical execution.
