Education Assistant

The Education Assistant program at Langara College is a non-degree program that takes eight months to a year to complete. It prepares students to work alongside teachers and support students with disabilities in inclusive classrooms.

The program combines theoretical courses and practical experiences to help students develop the skills they need to become competent Education Assistants. Students learn about supporting students with disabilities, building relationships with students and staff, and working in dynamic school environments.

Graduates can work as Education Assistants, Special Education Assistants, Teacher Assistants, Youth Workers, or Support Workers in public schools, private schools, or community organizations. They can also work with students, staff, and families to support student learning and development.
