Starting from the 2022/2023 academic year, the master’s degree course in Artificial Intelligence for Science and Technology is jointly organised by the University of Milan, the University of Pavia and the University of Milano-Bicocca, its administrative headquarters. Taught in English, it is specifically designed to train master’s degree graduates specialising in advanced aspects of the theoretical foundations, techniques, methodologies and ways of using artificial intelligence in complex applications. Students are provided with extensive specialised training focused on the areas of computer science, mathematics, physics and statistics, giving them a thorough understanding of the theoretical aspects and advanced techniques of artificial intelligence and its use in science, industry and technological innovation. They will also receive the necessary training both in the organisational/management field, to understand, manage and integrate information and communication technologies in the company, and in the legal field, to understand the constraints that limit the socially acceptable use of artificial intelligence. The course also provides an opportunity for the students to supplement their general specialist training with further knowledge and skills needed to apply artificial intelligence in specific areas (industrial automation, environmental monitoring, embedded systems, biomedical and health systems, modelling of complex systems, systems for physics and quantum technologies).
