Bachelor in Physics

Physics is the study of matter, energy, and the fundamental forces and laws that govern the physical universe, from subatomic particles to large-scale cosmic structures. Students build a foundation in classical mechanics, electromagnetism, thermodynamics, and modern physics topics such as quantum mechanics and relativity, supported by extensive training in mathematics and laboratory experimentation. Coursework emphasizes both theoretical problem-solving and hands-on experimental work, teaching students to design experiments, collect and analyze data, and interpret results in light of physical theory. As the program advances, students often encounter more specialized areas such as optics, solid-state physics, or computational physics, along with opportunities to apply physics knowledge to interdisciplinary problems. Graduates go on to careers in research, engineering, data analysis, education, and technology sectors, as well as further graduate study in physics or related scientific and engineering fields. This bachelor's degree is completed over 4 years of full-time study, taught in English, at Eastern Mediterranean University in Gazimağusa, Northern Cyprus in Gazimağusa, Northern Cyprus. Studying physics in an English-medium program situates students within an international scientific community from the start of their studies, with English serving as the working language for coursework, laboratory reports, and scientific communication. Over the 4-year sequence, the curriculum builds from core physics principles and mathematical tools toward more advanced and specialized topics, giving graduates a broad scientific foundation applicable across research and technical careers.
