Bachelor in Political Science

Political science examines how power is organized, exercised, and contested within and between societies. Students engage with political theory, comparative politics, public policy, and international relations, building the analytical tools to interpret institutions, elections, ideologies, and governance structures. Coursework typically progresses from foundational concepts in political thought to closer study of state systems, political behavior, and policy analysis, often paired with research methods training that lets students work with qualitative and quantitative evidence. The discipline also considers how domestic politics interacts with global affairs, covering topics such as diplomacy, international organizations, and conflict and cooperation among states. Graduates pursue careers in public administration, diplomacy, journalism, non-governmental organizations, research institutes, and further graduate study in law or political science, along with roles in policy analysis and advocacy work. This bachelor's program is delivered over 4 years of full-time study, with all coursework taught in English, at Eastern Mediterranean University in Gazimağusa, Northern Cyprus.
