Bahçeşehir University

Bachelor in Public Relations and Publicity

İstanbul, Turkey Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Public Relations and Publicity is the study of how organizations build and manage relationships with the audiences they depend on: customers, employees, media, investors, and the wider public. Coursework typically covers communication theory, media relations, corporate communication, crisis management, digital and social media strategy, advertising principles, marketing communication, event management, and writing for public relations. Students learn to research audiences, draft press releases and campaign plans, monitor media coverage, and evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies across print, broadcast, and online channels. Group projects and case studies are common, giving students practice in planning campaigns for brands, nonprofits, or public institutions before they graduate. Because reputation management now spans traditional press outreach as well as social platforms and influencer engagement, the program also addresses digital analytics and content strategy alongside classical public relations practice. Graduates pursue careers as public relations specialists, communication officers, media planners, corporate communication assistants, event coordinators, and digital content managers, working in agencies, corporations, government bodies, and nonprofit organizations. This bachelor's program is delivered in English over 4 years at Bahçeşehir University in İstanbul, Turkey. Students benefit from an English-medium environment that prepares them to work with international clients and media outlets, while being based in one of the world's major media and business hubs. The İstanbul location gives students access to a dense concentration of advertising agencies, broadcasters, and multinational company offices, offering practical exposure alongside academic study. Over the course of the 4-year degree, students progress from foundational communication theory to specialized electives and a capstone or internship experience that connects classroom learning to professional practice in the field.
