Bachelor in Radio, Television and Cinema

The Radio, Television and Cinema program examines how audiovisual media are produced, distributed, and understood by audiences. Coursework typically covers scriptwriting, camera and lighting technique, editing, sound design, directing, broadcast journalism, and media theory, alongside studies of film history and the changing structure of the television and streaming industries. Students work through practical studio and field assignments that build a portfolio of short films, television segments, and radio pieces, while also studying the legal, ethical, and economic frameworks that govern broadcasting and digital content platforms. Group production projects are common, giving students experience with the division of labor found in real production crews, from producing and directing to editing and post-production sound. Graduates pursue careers as television and film producers, directors, editors, camera operators, sound engineers, radio broadcasters, and content creators for streaming platforms, as well as roles in advertising, corporate media, and public broadcasting. The degree is offered as a 4 year bachelor program taught in English at Girne American University in Girne, Northern Cyprus.
