Sports science programme: Physical activity and health

Malmo University is a public university in Malmo, Sweden. It was founded in 1998 and is one of the youngest universities in Sweden. The university has over 25,000 students and 3,000 staff members. It offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in the fields of humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and law. Do you want to work with physical activity, sports, health and performance development? Interest in health, physical activity and exercise is growing. By studying with us, you can take part in driving, developing and influencing health and physical activity within various organisations. It can be about private companies, municipalities, the sports movement, in collaboration with the region and other organizations that work with physical activity and health - locally, regionally or internationally. The focus is based on basic knowledge of physical activity and health, but also current social challenges within the field. Opportunities as well as challenges are great in the field of health and sports and the demand for academic competence is increasing throughout the labor market. Through the education, you will gain a broad competence in sports science, which provides many opportunities in a growing job market with physical activity and/or sports as a common denominator. Our sports science program is adapted to work within a varied sports science job market with courses such as sports management, learning psychology and group dynamics in sports and project management and entrepreneurship. You study these courses together with the sports science specialization Sport Management. Within the focus on physical activity and health, you also take courses in physiology, anatomy and biomechanics, nutritional physiology, exercise theory, exercise and performance psychology and coaching, among other things. The education has both a social and natural science basis and helps you analyze and find solutions to various problems and develop your abilities in leadership and strategic development and change work in the field of health and sports.
