Do you want to work with education in Swedish as a second language for young people and adults? Then subject teacher training is something for you. Already during the first semester, you get a feel for your future professional role at a school. You do your work-based training under the guidance of experienced teachers and supervisors throughout the training. The close contact with the school means that you can use your practical experiences in the theoretical studies. The education gives you solid subject knowledge and the ability to support students' language and knowledge development from a multilingual perspective and to assess and grade students' performance. First subject Swedish as a second language The subject orientation Swedish as a second language and learning focuses on subject didactic knowledge of second language development, second language grammar, literature, writing and speaking. The education also provides tools to create conditions for learning and language development in meaningful social contexts. The subject studies in Swedish as a second language comprise 120 ECTS credits and, in addition to authorization to teach in grades 7-9 and upper secondary school, also confer authorization to teach Swedish for immigrants (sfi). In addition to Swedish as a second language, you choose another subject that includes 90 credits.
