Overview

The Pacific Alliance Scholarship Platform (Plataforma de Movilidad Estudiantil y Académica de la Alianza del Pacífico) is a reciprocal mobility programme run jointly by the four Pacific Alliance member states: Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru. Eligibility Criteria

What you need depends on your level of study and your home country, and the details sit in each focal point's call documents.

• Be a citizen of Chile, Colombia, Mexico or Peru.
• Undergraduate applicants: be enrolled and at least halfway through your degree, and meet your country's minimum grade-point average — for example Chile 5.0, Colombia 4.0, Mexico 8.5, and Peru placement in the top third of the cohort (the scales differ by country).
• Doctoral, post-doctoral, researcher and visiting professor applicants: hold the relevant degree or position and show the matching diploma or institutional accreditation.
• Be accepted by, or already linked to, a host institution in another member country.
• You generally can't hold another scholarship that duplicates the same benefits over the same period.

Scholarship Benefits

The host country's focal point provides the benefits, and together they're meant to cover a full study or research stay. The exact stipend is set per destination and published in the official call.

• Monthly living stipend: a maintenance allowance that varies by host country (for instance around CLP 500,000 a month in Chile and around COP 2,447,000 a month in Colombia; Mexico sets its grant against the UMA reference unit). Confirm the current figures in the call.
• International airfare: a round-trip economy ticket from the airport nearest your home to the city of study, with a checked bag of up to 23 kg.
• Insurance: health and medical cover valid in the host country for the length of the exchange, plus travel insurance. Pre-existing conditions are usually excluded.
• Tuition exemption: enrolment and administrative fees waived at the host institution under the bloc's reciprocity agreements.
