Schwarzman Scholars is a highly selective, one-year master in global affairs hosted at Tsinghua University in Beijing. Launched in 2015, the program admits a small cohort of future leaders from around the world to study China and global affairs in a concentrated, immersive environment. The curriculum combines rigorous core courses, leadership labs, and opportunities to engage directly with policy makers and business leaders based in China.
Students live and learn together on a campus that sits at the intersection of Chinas political, commercial, and technological life, gaining daily exposure to perspectives that shape the region. Instruction is delivered by international and Chinese faculty and complemented by workshops, mentorship, and company visits that bridge theory and practice. Peer learning is central, as the diverse cohort brings experiences from government, business, civil society, and academia.
For international applicants seeking to deepen their understanding of China while building a global leadership profile, the program offers generous funding, a powerful alumni network, and strong career placement across sectors. Applicants are advised to highlight demonstrated leadership, cross-cultural adaptability, and a clear plan for impact. Graduates leave with both subject expertise and practical connections that accelerate careers in public service, international organizations, and global commerce.
