About Master in Action Learning

Tuition fees are 75,000 USD per year.

At the heart of the Asia School of Business (ASB) lies a commitment to the MIT-inspired philosophy of mens et manus—mind and hand. This pedagogical framework asserts that the most profound professional development occurs when rigorous academic theory is immediately tested through real-world application. By integrating classroom learning with intensive, field-based problem solving, the programme transforms students into agile leaders capable of navigating the complex, rapidly evolving business landscape of Southeast Asia and beyond.

The Action Learning Flywheel

The core of this experience is an iterative process known as the ASB Problem-Solving Flywheel. Rather than studying business concepts in isolation, students are embedded within organizations ranging from multinational corporations and conglomerates to startups and non-profits. Under the guidance of seasoned faculty and expert business coaches, participants engage in primary data collection, stakeholder analysis, and the development of actionable strategies to resolve authentic, high-stakes operational and strategic challenges.

  • Immersive Practicums: Compressed, one-week intensive immersions in industry-specific environments.
  • Team-Based Projects: Three-week collaborative engagements requiring on-site fieldwork across Southeast Asia to address specific organizational pain points.
  • Individual Summer Engagements: A four-to-ten-week placement allowing students to align their practical experience with their specific long-term career ambitions.

Whether optimizing supply chains for manufacturing giants or fostering sustainability within agricultural sectors, students gain a unique vantage point on the Asian economy, graduating not just with a degree, but with a proven track record of delivering value in diverse professional contexts.
