Istanbul Gelişim University

Bachelor in Aircraft Engineering

İstanbul, Turkey Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Aircraft Engineering applies engineering principles to the design, maintenance, and operation of aircraft and their systems. Coursework typically covers aerodynamics, aircraft structures, propulsion systems, avionics, materials science, and flight mechanics, giving students the technical grounding needed to work with flight vehicles and their components. Students study the mechanical and electronic systems that keep aircraft airworthy, combining theory with laboratory and workshop practice on engines, control surfaces, and instrumentation. The curriculum also introduces aviation safety regulations, maintenance procedures, and quality assurance standards that govern the industry, preparing students to work within a heavily regulated technical environment. Coursework in materials science addresses the metals and composites used in modern airframes, while propulsion coursework covers the principles behind jet and piston engines. Hands-on laboratory sessions give students direct exposure to aircraft components and testing procedures. Graduates commonly pursue careers in aircraft maintenance, aerospace manufacturing, airline technical departments, and defense industry roles, and many continue toward further graduate study in aerospace or mechanical engineering. This program is offered as a bachelor's degree taught in English over a duration of 4 years at Istanbul Gelişim University in İstanbul, Turkey Small-group instruction and applied coursework throughout the program give students regular opportunities to work directly with faculty and refine their skills before entering the workforce.
