Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt

Bachelor in Autonomous Vehicle Engineering

Ingolstadt, Germany Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Autonomous Vehicle Engineering at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt is a 7-semester bachelor's programme focused on the development of automated mobility systems. It builds on the scientific and engineering foundations required to work across the three core phases of automated driving: Sense, covering sensor technology, sensor systems, and sensor data fusion; Think, covering software and intelligent algorithms for driving strategy; and Act, covering the safe execution of driving commands through powertrain, steering, and braking systems. The curriculum combines theoretical instruction with laboratory internships and practical phases that develop methodological competence. Group projects and seminars run alongside technical coursework to build collaborative and communication skills. The first two semesters focus on engineering fundamentals, mathematics, and applied computer science; semesters three and four introduce subject-specific content on vehicle information processing; semester five is an internship; and the final two semesters cover in-depth material on automated and networked driving, culminating in a thesis presented in written and oral form. The programme begins in the winter semester and is taught in English at the Ingolstadt campus.
