La Roche University began in 1963 when the Sisters of Divine Providence established an independent liberal arts university in the North Hills of Pittsburgh. Its Catholic heritage remains part of campus life, while students of all faiths and backgrounds are welcomed. The university is residential and offers undergraduate, master’s and doctoral programs.

Academic strengths include education, business, criminal justice, cybersecurity and forensics, psychology, nursing, health and medical sciences, interior architecture and design, and graphic design. Students gain practical experience through the SOLVE Center, where every major includes hands-on work with real organizations and outcomes.
