Students complete hands-on building projects using tools and materials to construct residential structures. They learn to read blueprints, apply mathematical concepts, and follow safety procedures in construction. Practical work makes up half of the program time. Students also study workplace safety, building layout, and industry regulations.

Graduates enter the carpentry trade as pre-apprentices or prepare for apprenticeship exams.

Math 10 or equivalent and English 10 or equivalent. Good physical condition and hand-eye coordination required. Steel-toed work shoes and suitable work clothes needed.
