Tuition is Course fee: $1500 + GST; ancillary fees include a $100 technology fee; additional costs include food, accommodation, transportation to Whitehorse, and steel-toed boots for students outside Whitehorse..

This six-week certificate program is delivered on-campus at the Yukon University Ayamdigut campus. It combines classroom theory, shop work, and field activities. Students learn drilling fundamentals, equipment use, rig maintenance, and safety procedures. They gain hands-on experience in welding, hydraulics, and field placements at active exploration sites.

230 hours over six weeks; 7.5 hours per day, five days per week; includes classroom, shop, and field components; field placements last about one week with 12-hour shifts.

Graduates receive a notice of completion and are prepared to work as a driller's helper in exploration drilling operations.

Valid driver's license and driver's abstract; good health, vision, hearing, and physical fitness with medical report; ability to lift 50 lbs; references; job readiness and aptitude interview; willingness to work shift and rotational schedules; ability to take direction and work well with others; strong desire to work outdoors.

On-campus, full-time, six weeks.
