This programme prepares students to become licensed early childhood educators in British Columbia. Graduates work with children from birth to eight years old in licensed child care centres and preschools. The curriculum combines theory and practical experience in child development, health, and inclusive play-based learning. Students complete two practicum placements in real early childhood settings.

Three semesters, 43.5 credits, full-time or part-time, includes practicum.

Applicants must be 18 by December 31 of the year they enter. They need 20 hours of volunteer or work experience with children from birth to age six. Two character references are required. A criminal record check and medical declaration are required. English proficiency is required. Applicants with 9 or more post-secondary credits must have a minimum GPA of 1.5.

On-campus, full-time or part-time, three semesters.
