About Environmental Engineering Technology

The diploma runs over 32 months, split into five academic semesters and three paid co-operative work terms. After the first year you complete two consecutive work terms, then a summer placement in the second year, followed by a final semester of classroom study.

It is aimed at students who have finished high school with Grade 12 including Pre-Calculus 30 (or equivalent Saskatchewan mathematics) and meet the English language requirement. A solid grounding in science and mathematics will help you succeed, and the programme also accepts applicants who can demonstrate ability through ACCUPLACER scores or alternative admission assessment.

The curriculum covers environmental impact evaluation, monitoring and control, site assessment, ecology, aquatic chemistry, hydrology, atmospheric quality, waste management and technical reporting. Learning takes place 60 % in classrooms and 40 % in labs, field camps and projects, preparing you for roles in pollution monitoring, audits, remediation and waste management.
