This programme is designed for students interested in addressing real-world environmental challenges through an interdisciplinary approach. It combines natural sciences, social sciences, and humanities to examine environmental issues from multiple perspectives. Students engage in fieldwork and place-based learning across diverse ecosystems in Pennsylvania and beyond. The curriculum emphasizes practical experience and critical thinking in sustainability solutions.

The programme requires 120 credits, distributed across foundational courses, advanced seminars, and experiential learning components. Students complete field-based courses and immersive programs in locations such as the Chesapeake Bay, Adirondack Park, and Costa Rica.

Graduates enter roles in environmental consulting, sustainability management, conservation science, environmental policy analysis, and environmental education.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required. Submission of official transcripts and a personal statement is required for application.

The programme totals about 120 credit hours. On-campus, full-time, four-year programme. For international students, tuition is above the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 93% of applicants.

About King's College

King’s College has 1,945 undergraduate and graduate students, with 60% living on campus. Student life includes more than 40 clubs and organizations, 28 NCAA Division III teams, nine intramural and club sports, theatre, choir, and art exhibitions. Students also complete more than 100,000 annual hours of service, with three annual SERVE trips in the United States and abroad. The college welcomes students of all faiths and backgrounds.

Founded by the Congregation of Holy Cross from the University of Notre Dame, King’s combines Catholic education with more than 70 academic programs, including undergraduate, graduate, and certificate options. Programs span business, accounting, biology, biochemistry and molecular biology, athletic training, genetic counseling, and other fields. Classes average 15 students in major programs and 22 in the CORE curriculum. The full-time faculty-to-student ratio is 13:1, 92% of faculty have a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree, and 61% hold tenure.

The campus has seven residential facilities, four on-campus restaurants, the George P. Maffei II Theatre, and the Widmann Art Gallery. Wilkes-Barre is a small city with restaurants, arts and sports venues, parks, trails, and slopes, with access to Philadelphia and Trenton in about two hours and New York City and Baltimore in about three. King’s offers study-abroad programs in 40 countries.
