Students study how sound is manipulated to create music. They learn aural theory, melody, counterpoint, harmony, modulation, chromatics, and improvisation.

They also study musical writing, instrumentation, orchestration, electronic and computer applications, and specific musical styles. The training supports creating and arranging music and developing original creative ability.
