Year one
Your first helps you to transition to university-level Geography by establishing foundational skills and knowledge You’ll develop these basic skills and knowledge through modules covering topics in both human and physical geography as well as through a residential field trip module

Year two
In your second you’ll develop more specialist knowledge and skills Core modules develop your understanding of the discipline of geography including research methods in both science and social science

Optional modules enable you to begin to specialise in topics such as climate change environmental hazards urban development migration or geotechnologies You’ll also start to plan for your career with an opportunity to undertake a work placement module

The optional field trip to the Indian Himalayas offers a unique opportunity to explore geographical themes in a highly dynamic real-world context On this trip you’ll examine environmental hazards such as soil erosion flooding landslides and air pollution community disaster resilience urban development wellbeing and social inequalities and the legacy of colonialism Please note that some of our field trips may incur an additional expense on top of your course fees

You can choose to undertake a Professional Placement Year between your second and final

Year three
You’ll complete a final independent research project allowing you to demonstrate the academic and transferable skills you’ve acquired on the course

You’ll have a choice of optional modules that give you the opportunity to specialise in topics such as disaster risk reduction identities and inequalities river management and environmental justice

An optional field trip to Barcelona allows you to specialise in either human geography or physical geography and environmental management by studying topics such as urban development wildfires and cascading hazards social inequalities urban sustainability policies coastal erosion nationalism and independence movements heat waves Olympic legacies or urban flood risks

🏠 Accommodation

You will need to book the accommodation after you have been accepted.

You can choose to live on campus or off campus in private accommodation.

How to book:

  • Make a booking online after you have been accepted (in this case please let us know your choice when you apply).
  • Register when you arrive - its not possible to reserve a room before arriving. You can arrive a few days before and book it

Entry Requirements

You are not eligible to apply to this program because:

The minimum age is 18.

English fluency is required.
You need to be either:
- A native English speaker
- Studied a degree in English before
- Can demonstrate a high level of English
- Having an English certificate such as IELTS level 6 or TOEFL 95 and above is an advantage.

Minimum education level: High School.

The program is competitive, you need to have a high grades of Average A, 70%, or a high GPA.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to Global Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
