📖Introduction

The University of Nicosia started the first medical program in Cyprus in 2011 by offering the St George’s, University of London Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) graduate-entry program. The University is the largest private university, and the first medical school, in Cyprus, which is also ranked one of the safest countries in the world for students. The university attracts a large number of international students from around the world each year due to its numerous Health degree program offerings. The Medical School at the University of Nicosia encourages students to take part in scientific activities as an extracurricular activity. The priority research fields include brain health, cancer biology, regenerative medicines, and infectious diseases.

Clinical Practice
Year 2 (Transitional Year)
Courses: Foundations of Clinical Practice, Mechanisms of Disease, General Medicine or General Surgery or General Practice, Body Systems, Specialties, and SSC - Student Selected Component: study an area of interest in depth, developing research and gain insight into possible
careers.

Year 3 (Penultimate Year)
Courses: Introductory Week to Medicine, Medicine (General Medicine and Acute Medicine, Dermatology, Rheumatology), Medical Specialties (Cardiology, Geriatric Medicine), Introductory Week to Surgery, General Surgery (Breast, Upper GI, Lower GI, Urology, Vascular), Surgical Specialties (Ophthalmology, Acute Orthopedics, ENT, Elective Orthopedics, Plastics, Palliative
Care), Introductory Week to Psychiatry and Neurology, Psychiatry, Neurology, Introductory Week to O&G and Pediatrics Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynecologic, and Pediatrics.

Year 4 (Final Year)
Courses: Student Selected Component 1 (SSCFY 1), Assistantship Medicine, Assistantship Surgery, Assistantship General Practice, Accident & Emergency Medicine, Critical Care and Anesthetics, Public Health, Student Selected Component 2 (SSCFY 2 Elective)*, and Postgraduate clinical training preparation.

*Elective takes place after Clinical Final Assessment.

Annually, the government of Cypris provides funding to students who are Cypriot citizens or EU citizens who are permanent residents in Cyprus Life in the University Hosting students from 70 different countries worldwide, the campus turns into a multicultural environment where students get to share their culture, food, history and traditions with each other. The university also promotes this by holding many social events and activities that encourage students to interact. Such events are also open to the public who bring along diversity. In addition to the events and activities, the university also has a number of societies and student clubs that students can get involved in. To keep all students and the public up to date, the university has an online portal where people can keep track of the events throughout the year.

Application process:

Applying Online is simple in just a few steps. More information is available here.

The first steps are to choose the programs, pay the application fee and upload the application documents.

Once submitted to Global Admissions, we will review your application within 2-3 days and proceed to the university or ask you for further clarification

After it has been processed to the university you will receive your unique application ID from each university.

The university may contact you directly for further questions.

We will then follow up each week with the university for updates. As soon as there is any update we will let you know. If you have made other plans, decide to withdraw / change address at any time please let us know.

After you have been accepted you will receive your admissions letter electronically and asked to pay the non-refundable deposit to the university.

Once you have paid the deposit the university will issue you the admissions letter and visa form to your home country.
