📚About the Program

Bachelor’s in Biochemistry and Biotechnology at University of Quebec Trois Rivieres

The program in biochemistry and biotechnology is based on the study, with the help of chemical and biological sciences, of the chemical constitution of living beings as well as their functioning. It aims to introduce the student, both theoretically and practically, to the methods and processes used by biochemistry, and in particular to those which, applied to micro-organisms and to animal and plant cells (or fractions thereof), make it possible to produce new molecules, new cells or new organisms and to use them on an industrial scale. The profile in cannabis biochemistry aims to train professionals who will have depth analytical skills on cannabis, but also other drugs. With this training, the student can undertake advanced studies or enter the labor market in the sectors of the cannabis industry, the detection of illicit substances, the processing, extraction and formulation of cannabis derivatives, health, pharmacology, agriculture and food as well as hygiene and the environment.
