📖Program Curriculum

Program Details
By partnering with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Laurier has made a commitment to use education as a tool for preventing crime and corruption around the world. We challenge you to contribute to the empowerment of the next generation to achieve a positive and sustainable impact on criminal justice and corruption prevention.

All courses are offered online in six-week chunks, designed to fit easily into timetables from all over the world. The certificate is a total of 2.0 credits (approximately 10% of a four-year honours degree) allowing you to use your electives from your degree to accomplish a second, concurrent credential.

Learning Outcomes
Developing knowledge of the UNODC, its mandate and its actions.
Learning about international cooperation activities through supranational doctrine and treaties, as well as their effect and limitations.
Topical knowledge about key contemporary international issues in crime and criminal justice, such as human trafficking/smuggling of migrants; digital technologies and crime; and counter-terrorism.
Practical knowledge relating to the detection and prevention of crime and criminal justice issues, specialized to each module.
Training from a variety of international perspectives to encourage critical thinking about subjects.
Exposure to advanced areas of study defined and administered by the UNODC.
