We are open to applications from any candidate whose proposed research fits into Loughborough London’s activities across seven Institutes, but particularly welcome applications on the following interdisciplinary areas for the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Institute for Diplomacy and International Governance and the Institute for Sport Business.

Vibrant and inclusive communities are crucial to resilient societies and fortified institutions and as pathways to sustainable futures. In recent years, potent debates have unfolded pertaining to race, gender, sex and disability discrimination and marginalisation, in tandem with unregulated digital platforms and extreme political radicalization. Our aim is to build understanding of the social innovation needed in various domains to address these and similar challenges and which is foundational to instituting vibrant and inclusive societies. What are the critical questions today for anti-discriminatory communities and institutions? How are new models of equity being taken up in practice and what might be the alternatives? How might sport be a vehicle for reconciliation across political extremes? What digital technology innovations or regulations do we need for safe societies?

Loughborough London offers an internationally-recognised faculty of academics with teaching expertise and relevant active research.

This project is fully funded, covering fees and stipend. We welcome applications from international candidates. Loughborough University has an applied research culture. These are school-wide studentships and supervisors may be located within one of several institutes within Loughborough University London.
