Beacon College’s academic strength lies in its specialized undergraduate education for students with learning disabilities, ADHD, and other neurodivergent profiles. The college offers bachelor’s degrees in fields including anthrozoology, business management, computer information systems, design and digital media, education, human services, humanities, psychology, and studio arts. Students can also choose from minors such as computer forensics and cyber security, criminal justice, entrepreneurship, game design, history, hospitality, and industrial and organizational psychology. Learning specialists serve as academic and life mentors, while career exploration is integrated across the four-year curriculum.
Founded in 1989, Beacon has developed programs and facilities focused on student support, including an academic mentoring program established in 1995, the Center for Student Success, and the Robert & Jane Weiner Writing Center. The college’s Center for College Readiness provides hands-on learning and one-to-one coaching through programs for students and families. Its mission centers on the educational needs and undergraduate success of students with neurodivergent profiles.
