Dillard University

As Louisiana’s oldest historically Black university, Dillard University carries a long educational legacy in New Orleans. That history has grown into an institution offering more than 20 degrees and certificates across the arts, business, humanities, nursing, STEM, and related fields. Dillard was the first historically Black college or university to offer a bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts.

Academic work extends beyond classroom programs through research centers and initiatives including the Dillard University Center for Racial Justice, the Center for Health Professions and Health Concerns, the Ray Charles Program in African American Material Culture, and the Office of Research & Sponsored Programs. Dillard is the only university in the United States with a program in African American material culture. Students learn to think critically and act with integrity, with a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio.

The university’s address is 2601 Gentilly Boulevard in New Orleans, Louisiana. International students should review tuition, fees, room and board, health insurance, and the international application fee when planning costs. Evening, weekend, and online programs charge by credit hour, while daytime tuition follows cohort-based pricing. Student support includes academic success, career readiness, mental health advocacy, study abroad, undergraduate research, and preparation for graduate and professional school. Records and Registration assists with enrollment and degree verification, transcripts, course changes, and withdrawals.
