Gnomon’s academic strengths center on 3D production for film, games, and visual effects. The four-year, full-time Bachelor of Fine Arts program develops a 3D generalist skillset through study of the 3D production pipeline, visual arts, and general education. Its two-year, full-time Certificate in Digital Production for Entertainment builds on a 3D generalist foundation, with emphasis in Game Art, Modeling and Texturing, Visual Effects Animation, or Character and Creature Animation.
Students can also take individual courses in subjects across film, game, and visual effects production. These 10-week courses are available on campus and online. Foundation in Art & Design provides up to one year of fundamental art education for people aged 18 and over who want to improve their skills and build a broad portfolio. Gnomon has trained thousands of students for careers in the entertainment industry, with more than 1,000 industry-employed graduates.
The campus is at 6150 Laurel Canyon Boulevard in North Hollywood, a Los Angeles neighborhood within one of the world’s largest film, television, and game production centers. International students can contact admissions advisors by phone, Zoom, or on-campus appointment to discuss an appropriate educational path. Advisors are artists who provide artistic feedback and guidance based on each student’s situation. Course delivery varies by program, so students should note whether their chosen option is full-time, on campus, online, or avocational.
