Hamilton College

Hamilton College gives students unusual control over their academic direction through a distinctive open curriculum. Students can choose classes that reflect established interests or use the freedom to pursue new ideas. More than 50 areas of study support individualized plans, with computer science, public policy, neuroscience research, writing and communication represented in student and graduate experiences. The curriculum carries a corresponding responsibility: students make thoughtful choices about what they want to learn.

Life on College Hill includes campus involvement, internships, community partnerships and a personalized career program. Hamilton also connects students with an extensive alumni network as they prepare for work and further contributions. The college places particular emphasis on communication through written, spoken, artistic and digital expression. A virtual tour offers more than 20 stops, 360-degree views and videos of campus life for students beginning to explore the setting.

Students arriving from outside the United States join a college that makes its education accessible to talented students from around the world and gives all students equal access to its resources. Opportunities can extend beyond campus: one graduate studied in Spain and visited 20 cities across six countries during that experience. Hamilton prepares students for lives of meaning, purpose and active citizenship, while helping them build independence, perspective, confidence and a broader way of thinking.
