Juniata College

Juniata College sits in Central Pennsylvania’s scenic mountains, with a campus close to Huntingdon’s walkable downtown. Students can explore the surrounding mountain landscape while taking part in campus traditions such as Mountain Day and Storming of the Arch. More than 100 student clubs and organizations provide additional ways to participate in college life.

Academically, Juniata centers its undergraduate experience on Programs of Emphasis, which allow students to design an academic plan around their interests, talents, and goals. Rather than choosing from fixed majors, students work with two dedicated advisors to develop an individualized program. The college lists 3,648 possible combinations of academic paths, alongside graduate programs and accelerated 3+1 dual degrees. Collaboration with professors is part of the learning environment, and most classes have fewer than 20 students. The student-to-professor ratio is 11:1.

International students account for 10% of the undergraduate population, making them part of a diverse campus community of more than 1,200 undergraduates. Juniata states that all students receive financial aid, and all seniors take part in community-engaged learning opportunities. The Eagles compete in 24 Division III sports teams in the Landmark Conference and Continental Volleyball Conference. The athletics program has won 11 national championships and 78 conference championships.
