Knox College

For nearly 200 years, Knox College has brought together students who want to explore ideas and make a difference in their communities, nation, and world. The small campus supports close connections among students, faculty, and peers. Students encounter people with different majors, interests, and skill levels, creating opportunities to build connections across backgrounds. Campus traditions and activities, including Flunk Day and time on the South Lawn, form part of the Knox experience in Galesburg, a city in western Illinois.

Knox’s liberal arts education is designed to produce informed, engaged citizens who can apply knowledge to practical challenges. Students can choose from more than 60 courses of study, including 42 majors, 57 minors, pre-professional programs, and cooperative programs. Academic options include biology, creative writing, data science, economics, computer science, business and management, philosophy, psychology, art and art history, and music. The academic calendar uses three terms each year, with students taking three classes per term to create space for deeper study. Conversations with peers and faculty can lead to research projects and independent studies. Every student receives financial assistance, and students can seek support from peers, faculty, and Admissions as they shape their path at Knox.
