At 3333 East Beltline Ave. NE in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Kuyper College offers a close community where students, professors, and staff know and support one another. Students come from across the country and around the world, bringing different cultures, places, races, and ethnic backgrounds into a shared Christian community. Three ideas shape the college experience: learn, work, and serve. As Michigan's only Work College, Kuyper integrates work and service with academic study. Students develop workplace skills while contributing to college operations and gaining experience in areas such as financial aid. The model also helps make study more affordable. All students receive financial aid, and Work College students may receive a tuition credit of up to $8,100 per year beyond grants and scholarships. Tuition rates for Fall 2023 first-year students remain the same for four years, and transfer students can receive the same provision for up to three years.
Academic programs are taught by professors who support students' academic, spiritual, and personal growth. Biblical integration is part of every program, with students developing an academic and biblical foundation and a Christian worldview. Majors include Business Leadership, Elementary Education, Interdisciplinary Studies, Bible & Ministry, Secondary Education, and Social Work. Classes average 14 students, and the student-to-faculty ratio is 11:1. Every student participates in an internship or practicum experience, adding applied learning to coursework. Leadership development is another part of the college's approach: students are encouraged to take responsibility, recognize where God has placed them, and use their skills to serve others. International students join a community that includes peers from around the world and should expect Christian faith to be woven into classroom learning, work, service, and campus relationships.
