Oglethorpe University

Critical thinking, discussion, research, and practical experience shape the undergraduate curriculum at Oglethorpe. Its Core curriculum challenges students across disciplines, while small classes support close work with professors. Students can learn through laboratories, internships, and self-directed research, including biology projects that build laboratory skills. The university prepares graduates for careers and further study, with alumni working as artists, healthcare professionals, business leaders, advocates, and community leaders.

For almost 200 years, Oglethorpe graduates have contributed to Atlanta and communities beyond Georgia. The university's historic campus sits minutes from internships and cultural experiences across the metropolitan area. Atlanta provides a setting for students to connect classroom learning with professional interests, while campus life includes 16 NCAA Division III athletic teams, performance opportunities, student organizations, and career development.

International students join a close-knit community where faculty know and support students personally. Nearly 60% of students identify as students of color, and the university says all viewpoints and identities are respected. Mental health and student success services provide additional support. Merit scholarships are available, and the Flagship 50 program may make tuition affordable for academically qualified students. New first-year and transfer students attend Orientation and Welcome Weekend before classes begin.
