Shorter University

Shorter University has grown into an institution where faith is integrated into academic life and campus relationships. Students describe classroom devotions, professors who care about their success, and a community that supports personal, spiritual, and academic development. The university presents Rome, Georgia, as the setting for its "home on the Hill" campus experience, giving students a shared sense of place and belonging.

Academic options span undergraduate, online, and graduate programs. Areas represented in the university's student experiences include nursing, music and worship leadership, English, business management, and communications. Students have used their studies to prepare for work in nursing, worship leadership, music teaching, composition and arranging, business, and communications. Faculty support and opportunities to explore different ideas and fields are recurring parts of the student experience.

International students should understand that Shorter's educational approach connects study with Christian faith. Prayer and devotion may be part of classroom life, and faith can be integrated across classes. The university also offers online programs alongside its campus-based undergraduate and graduate choices. Student accounts describe opportunities to form lasting friendships, work closely with professors, and build direction for future study and careers. Shorter also promotes information requests, campus visits, and applications for prospective students.
