Webb Institute’s campus in Glen Cove is a five-minute drive from downtown and sits on a 26-acre estate with a private beach and views of the Long Island Sound. Students are required to live and eat on campus, where facilities are available around the clock. Clubs, sailing, soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, community service, and student-led activities shape daily life. Houses of worship and emergency care at a nearby community hospital are available in the local area.
Academic study focuses on Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, with related work in ship design, systems engineering, marine engineering, electrical engineering, and civil engineering. Students pursue a dual BS and complete a 146-credit undergraduate education that combines engineering fundamentals, design, research, and maritime industry experience. The 9:1 student-faculty ratio supports close work with faculty in classes and original research. Facilities include laboratories, shops, computer facilities, the Robinson Model Basin towing tank, the Goldbach Boathouse, and the Livingston Library. A foreign exchange program with the University of Southampton, established in spring 2008, gives students an opportunity to develop a global perspective.
International students should plan for tuition of $61,650 and an estimated total cost of attendance of $87,915 for 2025-26, including living expenses, fees, books, travel, and a laptop fee. Webb’s full-tuition scholarship applies to U.S. citizens and permanent residents, so international students should review funding carefully. Students must also carry Affordable Care Act-compliant health insurance or enroll in Webb’s Student Health Insurance Plan.
