EIT Food, headquartered in Heverlee, Belgium and founded in 2016, is an innovation community supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology. As a public-private partnership spanning universities, research centres, startups and industry, EIT Food focuses on transforming the food system to be healthier, more sustainable and more trusted, while delivering education and entrepreneurship opportunities across Europe.

About the Program

The Human Microbiome is a non-degree program for students of all levels, taught in English, lasting one week. It helps students understand the importance of microbes in our bodies.

The curriculum covers the basics of microbiology, including the role of microbes in our health and how they impact our daily lives. Students will learn about the latest research in the field and participate in hands-on activities to help them grasp the concepts better.
