EIT Food

​EIT Food is an innovation initiative supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), a body of the European Union. Founded in 2016, EIT Food is a public-private partnership that brings together key players from industry, academia, and startups to transform the food system. Headquartered in Belgium, it operates across Europe with regional hubs, promoting sustainable, healthy, and trusted food through education, innovation, and entrepreneurship.​

EIT Food works to create a future-fit food system that produces healthy and sustainable food for all. It supports startups, funds research, delivers education and public engagement initiatives, and connects stakeholders from across the agrifood value chain. With a strong focus on innovation and collaboration, EIT Food aims to tackle major food system challenges such as climate change, food waste, and nutrition-related health issues.

Through its wide network of partners—including leading universities, research centers, and global food industry players—EIT Food fosters cross-border collaborations to empower individuals and organizations to drive meaningful change in the food sector.
