The uni is in an amazing location and offers great student life, there is so much to do and enjoy in manchester. The library and learning commons are great and offer amazing facilities and loads of space to study, 24/7. You can also borrow iPads/laptops from the uni for those who cannot afford their own. There is such a broad range of courses on offer at Manchester and my degree can include modules from other Social Science disciplines to read deepen my understanding and learning. The student union is great and offers loads of activities and events, such as poster sales, vinyl sales, fundraisers for world events, and protests to partake in. There are also great student bars and local nightlife. Around 90% of my core subjects were completely online for semester 2. I found this quite difficult as it limits contact time and it is harder to concentrate online. I also feel this isn’t really value for money considering the vast amount me and my coursemates are paying. However, my lecturers have been great online and I have appreciated their efforts, though with repeated strikes I have also missed out on a lot of my in-person teaching as well. When there are strikes, they also limit our access to the slides that we have missed, which greatly restricts our learning. I feel considering the £9grand price tag we should be supported through strikes the best that the uni can.
