Altınbaş University

Bachelor in Medicine

İstanbul, Turkey Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Medicine trains students to understand the structure and function of the human body and to diagnose, treat and prevent disease. The curriculum typically begins with foundational sciences such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry and pharmacology before moving into clinical training across specialties including internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics and psychiatry. Clinical rotations in hospital and outpatient settings allow students to apply classroom knowledge under supervision, working directly with patients. Medical education is demanding and comprehensive, reflecting the responsibility physicians carry for patient welfare, and it combines rigorous scientific study with the development of clinical judgment and communication skills. Graduates typically continue into postgraduate residency training in a chosen specialty before practicing independently. The program builds a foundation not only in biomedical science but also in ethics, patient communication and evidence-based decision making, preparing students for a career centered on direct patient care and lifelong medical learning. Beyond core clinical rotations, students are introduced to public health, medical ethics and research methodology, reflecting the broader responsibilities physicians hold beyond individual patient encounters. Small-group teaching and bedside instruction are common features of the later years, as students transition from observing to taking an active role in patient care under supervision. This 6 years program is offered at Altınbaş University in İstanbul, Turkey, and is taught in English.
