Maltepe University

Bachelor in Medicine

İstanbul, Turkey Taught in English Open to international students

About the Program

Medicine trains students for the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease across the human lifespan. The curriculum begins with foundational sciences such as anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, and pharmacology before progressing to clinical rotations across internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and other specialties. Students develop clinical reasoning, patient communication, and hands-on procedural skills under faculty supervision in teaching hospitals and clinics. Graduates go on to postgraduate residency training in a medical specialty, working ultimately as physicians in hospitals, clinics, and academic medical centers. The program is taught in English and runs over 6 years at Maltepe University, located in İstanbul, Turkey. Over the 6 years of study, students move from foundational courses toward more specialized electives, building both the theoretical grounding and the practical skills expected in the field. Studying at Maltepe University places students within İstanbul's wider academic and professional community, giving access to campus resources, faculty guidance, and opportunities to connect coursework with real-world practice through projects, internships, or research work depending on the track chosen. By graduation, students are expected to have a solid command of the discipline's core methods and terminology, along with the communication and analytical habits needed to move into entry-level professional roles or continue toward graduate study.
