    Introduction

The University of Jamestown began in 1883 as Jamestown College and remains a private Christian liberal arts institution. Its academic portfolio includes undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs, combining liberal arts with professional preparation. Students can study across the arts, sciences and nursing, while graduate offerings include business, education, leadership, technology and clinical counseling. Doctoral programs are available in clinical research, leadership and physical therapy. More than 40 areas of study are taught by faculty rather than graduate students, and each student receives a dedicated faculty advisor from the first day. Jamestown is the university's main campus, with additional locations in Fargo, North Dakota, and Phoenix, Arizona. The university has more than 1,600 students from over 30 states and 15 countries, creating an international community within a small-campus setting. Average class size is 19, and students can join 20 varsity sports, nine performing groups, and more than 23 clubs and organizations. Full-time undergraduate students receive some form of financial aid, while the application is free and does not require ACT scores. Health services include priority appointments through local clinics, and free, confidential short-term counseling is available in person or virtually. Religious life and campus ministry offer opportunities to explore Christian faith in welcoming settings, regardless of denomination. International undergraduates may apply as in-person students for bachelor's study on campus.
