Bachelor in Wildlife Biology (Bachelor's)

Hastings College has a walkable campus where students, faculty and staff can connect across classrooms, residence halls, dining spaces and recreation areas. Housing includes three co-ed residence halls, six updated Bronco Village apartment buildings and The 1882 residence hall. Students can rent bicycles through the Bronco Bikes program, follow the Pioneer Spirit Trail, visit Heartwell Park or bike to Lake Hastings.

Academic life combines classroom study with intentional experiences across a four-year plan. Students take part in research, internships and practical work connected to their interests. Areas represented in student work include wildlife biology, biology education, music, conservation and public service. Career Services supports students as they prepare for employment or continue their education, while Academic Counseling Services provides academic guidance.

More than 40 student organizations, intramural activities, athletics, music and the arts give students options outside class. Dining includes meal plans, a campus cafe and the Bronco Blend coffee and smoothie location. Hastings is a south-central Nebraska community of 25,000 with local restaurants, coffee shops and places for visitors to stay. The Wildlife Biology programme at Hastings College is delivered in a block-style semester format, with students taking one or two courses at a time. This structure allows focused study and close interaction with faculty, who teach only one or two courses per block. Students complete a research presentation as part of their degree requirements. The programme prepares students for careers in wildlife management, conservation, and animal care through hands-on experiences and internships.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Admission requires a minimum GPA of 2.5 and submission of official transcripts. Additional documents include a personal statement and two letters of recommendation.

The programme totals about 120 credit hours. On-campus, full-time, four-year programme with a block-style semester structure. For international students, tuition is above the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 70% of applicants.
