Students study the nature of religious belief and religious and quasi-religious systems. They examine phenomenology, sociology, psychology, philosophy, anthropology, literature, art, mythology, and textual studies.

They also study religious history, politics, and specific faith communities. This work is used to understand their beliefs, behavior, and place in society.

For international students, tuition is well above the median for US programmes. The institution admits about 8% of applicants.

Barnard College is a women’s liberal arts college in New York City, partnered with Columbia University. Its history includes graduates such as Mabel Ping-Hua Lee, a suffragist from the class of 1916 who became the first Chinese woman in the United States to earn a doctorate. Today, the College brings together about 3,200 students and more than 40,000 alumnae.
